Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal. Formerly called Royal Chitwan National Park it was established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. Chitwan National park is situated in south central of Nepal; covering 932 km in the subtropical low land of inner Terai has long been one of the country’s treasures of wildlife sanctuary. The name 'Chitwan" means ' Heart of the Jungle', is a home to the endanger Royal Bengal tiger, Indian one -horn rhino, sloth bear, Rhesus monkeys, wild boar, leopard, jungle cats, various type of deer, over 400 species of colorful birds.
Chitwan jungle safari tour is one of most popular adventure tours for those who has dream to see wild animals, green forest and flat landscape of Nepal which offers a wilderness of rich ecosystem that includes mammals, birds, reptiles and water animals of several kinds. The highlights of this park are the 500 Asian One-horned Rhinoceros and some hundred “The King of the Jungle” Royal Bengal Tigers that live in the dense forests of the park. You will discover a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, of pre-historic Rhino and lumbering Elephants, Crocodile, Python and Deer; brilliantly colored Birds and if you are fortunate then you can see - the superb Royal Bengal Tiger. Sharing home with these are other animals like Rhesus Monkey, Deer, Leopards and Wild Cats etc. Another most important factor adding to the Chitwan experience is the colorful Tharu Culture, their way of living, culture and tradition and heart touching Tharu Dance.
