Manaslu Expedition

Manaslu (8, 163), Lying At the edge of one of the most secluded Himalayan valleys in the central-western Nepal Himalaya's Kali Gandaki valley 40 miles east of Annapurna, Manaslu is world's eighth highest mountain and which is the highest peak of the Gurkha massif. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word Manasa, meaning 'intellect' or "soul". This is the same word that is the root of the name of the holy lake Manasarover near Mt Kailas in Tibet. Mt. Manaslu was first climbed in 1956 by a Japanese expedition by T. Imanishi (Japan) and Gyalzen Norbu (Sherpa).Though there are many routes to Mt. Manslu mountaineering, as the long ridge Manaslu base camp and valley glacier offer feasibility to approach from different directions, but South Face is considered to be the most difficult. Our caravan route to this mountain begins from Gorkha to Samagaon and the return baxk with same route and via Larke pass route  making the expedition one of the memorable one for Mt. Manaslu climbing.
